Acrylate-natural rubber is its excellent heat and hot oil resistance. ACM is resistant to motor oils with modern additives, gearbox oil, lubricants etc. In addition there is the high oxidation and ozone resistance of a saturated polymer chain. Temperature range from -20 °C to +175°C.
Aflas ® is a natural rubber belonging to the generation of fluoro-elastomers. It is high resistance to chemicals, hot water, steam, acids, lyes, ammonia, bleaches, sour (H2S) gases and oils, as well as amines and especially media with additives containing amine and corrosioninhibitors, doped motor oils and gearbox oils, brake fluid and oxidised media.The temperature range is similar to that of fluorelastomers – from 10 °C up to +200 °C.
NBR rubber is above all resistant to oils, especially hydraulic oils, lubricants, petrol and other aliphatic hydrocarbons, diluted acids and lyes. Good physical values such as high friction resistance and ruggedness and good temperature resistance (-25 °C up to +120 °C, in part to -40 °C) give this natural rubber a wide range of uses.
Butyl natural rubber (MR)
Characteristics of seals made of this material are very low gas-permeability, high resistance to the effects of oxygen and ozone, good electrical properties and above average resistance to animal and vegetable oils and fats. Unsuitable for use with mineral oil. Temperature range from -40 °C to +140°C.
Chloroprene-natural rubber (CR)
The chemical and physical properties of CR are similar to those of NBR. Acid, alkali and mineral oil resistance is a bit less but the ageing and ozone resistance properties are excellent. Temperature range from -40 °C to +120 °C depending on type.
Chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSM)
Exceptional resistance to ozone, good resistance to the effects of acids and alkalis, ageing-resistant, good mechanical and physical properties show the sectors where CSM is used. Mineral oils can cause expansion, the extent of which will depend on the seal's working temperature and on the type of hydrocarbon link. Temperature range from -25 °C to +135°C.
The range of uses of peroxydically cross-linked EPDM includes in hot water and steam seals. EPDM is also very resistant to ageing and ozone. Compared with the usual types of synthesis natural rubber it has good resistance to cold temperatures. EPDM is not resistant to aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil products. Resistance to chemicals, and also to oxidising agents, is very good. Temperature range from -50 °C to +140 °C depending on type.
Ethylene propylene diene natural rubber (EPM)
Peroxydic cross-linking yields excellent hot water and steam resistance properties, very good resistance to atmospheric conditions such as UV rays, ozone and damp and good acid and alkali resistance. EPM is not resistant to aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil products. Temperature range from -40 °C to +180 °C depending on type.
Perfluor-natural rubber (FFPM)
PTFE resistance to chemicals and heat with FPM elastomer properties. It's available in hardnesses of from 50 to 90 ° Shore A and thus covers a temperature range from -15 °C to +325 °C depending on type. It's used where other elastomers can't do the job and maximum reliability is required. Special materials compliant with FDA, USP Class VI and clean room requirements are used in e.g. the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Fluoro natural rubber (FPM - FKM - Viton)
Outstanding resistance to mineral oils, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as CHCs, concentrated and diluted acids, and weak alkalis. Excellent resistance to high temperatures (up to 200 °C) and a low temperature resistance down to -40 °C depending on the type used as well as good mechanical attributes and an exceptionally good ageing resistance make FPM a cut well above the usual synthesis natural rubbers.
Fluorosilicone natural rubber (FVMQ)
Apart from the typical properties of normal silicone natural rubber fluorosilicone natural rubber displays superior resistance to oils, fuels and solvents. This applies above all to aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons and alcohols. Applications include where resistance over a wide range of temperatures, from -60 °C to +200 °C and in the presence of aggressive media, e.g. petrol, alcohol mixtures, aromatic and naphthenic oils and a range of chlorinated solvents, is required.
Hydrogenated nitrile natural rubber (HNBR)
O-rings made of HNBR are characterised by excellent properties that include high resistance to mineral oils with additives, low steam and gas permeability, good cold flexibility down to -30 °C depending on type, good ozone resistance and friction resistance. HNBR seals withstand heat up to 150°C.
Natural rubber (NR)
Natural rubber is a highly elastic material with excellent physical properties. Despite the large number of synthesis natural rubber types with their special attributes available, there is still a considerable range of applications for natural rubber. Temperature range from -45 °C to +100 °C depending on type.
Polyurethane natural rubber (AU)
Polyurethane / AU O-rings are characterised by especially high efficiency. Polyurethane / AU O-rings have very high mechanical values including resistance to friction and tearing, very good rebound properties and high gas proof properties. Resistance to fuel, and to many other common technical oils, especially those with higher aromatics content, is excellent. Thanks to its resistance to high temperatures (up to +125 °C) and good low-temperature flexibility (down to -30 °C) and outstanding resistance to oxygen and ozone, an O-ring seal of polyurethane natural rubber can be expected to last a long time.
Polytetrafluoro-ethylene (PTFE - Teflon)
Broad chemical resistance, except against liquid alkaline metals and fluorine gas under pressure. Good sliding qualities, low wear and tear. Temperature range from -200 °C to +260°C. PTFE has hardness of approximately 95 °Shore and installing these O-rings in split grooves is recommended or alternatively the use slit or sheathed types due to the low elasticity.
Silicone rubber (VMQ)
Areas of application of this rubber are suggested by its outstanding temperature resistance (-55 °C to +200 °C), although this must not be applied to hot water or steam. Although silicone rubber almost matches NBR in oil resistance, it does not match the latter's physical and mechanical properties.
