National offers oil seals with a single lip and with a double lip, in rubber, polymer and metal-cased designs. Inside the seal sits a spring that keeps the sealing lip tight against the shaft; without it the seal can start to leak.
The model 35 is a strong static sealing ring, suitable for split housings where edge breakage or butt offset can occur. It works well with light-metal housings and high thermal expansion, since those housings expand more than steel. It can be used in pressure applications and seals larger surface roughness; when installed correctly, the housing is not damaged. View our full range of this type →
