The Oil Seal DC is a versatile sealing component designed with a double effect for efficient sealing performance. Its unique design features two sealing lips supported by spiral springs, ensuring a secure and effective seal. The outer diameter is sheathed with elastomer, providing a smooth surface. Additionally, upon request, a ribbed outer diameter is also available to suit specific requirements.
The special features of the Oil Seal DC make it a reliable choice for various applications. It excels in the separation of two media, providing a combination of two sealing lips in a single component. This enables efficient sealing while ensuring the separation of different fluids or substances. The Oil Seal DC offers a secure static seal within the housing, preventing any leakage or contamination. It is particularly suitable for housings with high thermal expansion, such as light metal housings. It is also designed for shared housings and can effectively seal in applications with increased surface roughness. Another advantage of the Oil Seal DC is its resistance to fretting rust, ensuring long-lasting performance and reliability.
One application example of the Oil Seal DC is in rotating machine elements where the separation of two media is required. It effectively seals and separates fluids or substances within rotating systems, ensuring optimal performance and preventing any cross-contamination.
The materials used in the Oil Seal DC include elastomer NBR 70 Black as the standard material for the sealing element. The spring is made of spring steel according to DIN EN 10270-1, providing the necessary support for the sealing lips. The reinforcement ring is composed of sheet steel according to DIN EN 10139, ensuring structural integrity. Special materials such as elastomer FKM, silicone, ACM, HNBR, CR, and EPDM are available options for specific application requirements. The spring and reinforcement ring can be made of rust and acid-resistant steel (1.4301), providing enhanced corrosion resistance and durability.
When considering usage parameters, the Oil Seal DC can operate within a temperature range of -40°C to +100°C. It is designed for pressureless applications, and the maximum pressure should not exceed 0.02 MPa. The maximum circumferential speed is 6 m/s. The media for lubrication should be based on mineral oils and synthetic lubricants. When using synthetic lubricants without available empirical data, compatibility testing is recommended through laboratory tests or practical trials. It is important to ensure that the operating temperature does not exceed 80°C for optimal performance and longevity.
In terms of construction notes, the shaft tolerance for the Oil Seal DC is ISO h11, and the minimum hardness requirement is 45 HRC. The recommended roughness for the shaft is ra=0.2-0.8 μm, with an Rz range of 1-5 μm and an Rmax not exceeding 6.3 μm. The surface condition
